Trade names and synonyms
Maswa duboisi.

Size
Can reach approximately 12 - 14 cm (4.5-5.5 in).

Food
Only shrimpmix.

Aquarium
350 litres (75 gal.) and above.

Habitat
Found in rocky habitats with a rich layer of sediment, at depths between 3 and 15 metres.

Breeding
A mouthbrooder which is easy to spawn.

General
Tropheus is best kept in larger groups of fishes. Tropheus duboisi suits well as company for other species from the Tropheus genus.

Distribution
Tropheus duboisi occurs all around the Lake Tanganyika.
The most attractive variant is the one with a broad white ribbon from "Mazwa" wich is found near Cape Kabogo.
This is also the most common variant in tanganyikatanks. Juveniles Tropheus duboisi has the characteristic spotted pattern which dissapear at adult age.
