Handelsnamn och synonymer
Mango fuelleborni, Chilumba-type fuelleborni, Red top fuelleborni, Ochre fuelleborni, Fuelleborn's cichlid, Yellow-sided fuelleborni.
Size
12-17 cm (4.5-6.5 in.), females a bit smaller.
Food
Shrimpmix.
Aquarium
Not smaller than 400 litres (88 gal.), but the larger tank the better.
Habitat
The upper rocky habitat with a lot of turbulence in the water. Where the vawes washes the rocks the water will be rich by oxygen.
Breeding
In tanks with the right size and with the right care it is fairly easy to breed.
General
It's a rather messy cichlid that is best kept together with other sturdy cichlids. Neither should it be kept together with L. trewavasae because they could cross-breed. L. fuelleborni is sensitive to nitrite in the water, probably becauce the oxygen-rich water in their natural environment. Because of this reason you should be careful with the waterchanges. I have to recommend L. fuelleborni wich is a very attractive and interesting cichlid.
Distribution
Labeotropheus fuelleborni is found all over the Lake Malawi in several differnt locally colourations.
